The Models of Pride conference offers over 100 workshops for youth, parents, and professionals. The youth track of the conference, for attendees 24 and under, is separate from the Parents & Professionals Institute (PPI), and includes workshops in a variety of categories tailored to LGBTQ youth and allies. The Parents & Professionals Institute, held at the same time as the youth track in a different building on USC’s campus, offers workshops in the following tracks: Parents of Newly Out LGBQ Youth, Experienced Parents of LGBQ Youth, Parents of Trans* Gender-Fluid Youth, Professionals Who Work with LGBTQ Youth, and a track En Español.

LifeWorks, the youth mentoring and development department of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, host of the Models of Pride conference, invites you to "Be the Change" at the 24th annual Models of Pride conference. The success of the conference is dependent upon the experience of the attendees, and the experience of the attendees is dependent on the quality of our workshops. Every year, amazing facilitators present amazing and impactful workshops at our conference. We want you to be one of those facilitators.
We work to provide a broad variety of workshops for all conference attendees, and youth workshops in past years have spanned many categories, including:
- Activism / Social Justice
- Ally Community & Issues
- Arts & Culture
- Coming Out / Families
- Education / Careers
- Gender (i.e. Queer, Trans*, Intersex, etc.)
- People of Color Community & issues
- Sexualities (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Pan, Fluid, etc.)
- Spirituality / Faith
If you are interested in presenting a workshop at Models of Pride, first review the application and note the following important dates:
- June 1, 2016 - Workshop Application Deadline
- July 8, 2016 - Workshop Decision Letters Sent
- August 17, 2016 - Workshop Room Assignments and Time Slot Sent
- October 29, 2016 - Models of Pride 24
Any applications received after June 1, 2016 may not be considered. The Models of Pride 24 Workshops Committee does not guarantee that your workshop proposal will be selected. Workshops are selected through a thorough review process, with a strong emphasis on youth input. Because you have submitted and were selected to present a workshop at a Models of Pride Conference in the past does not guarantee your workshop application will be selected again this year. Selection is solely at the discretion of the Workshops Committee and Models of Pride Steering Committee. Please understand that in order to keep the conference free of charge to attendees, we cannot offer honorariums or cover travel expenses.
