Second Keynote Speaker Announced for PPI

Stacy Drageset, author of the children’s book "Pink is a Girl Color"...and other silly things people say will be the second keynote speaker at this year’s Parent & Professional Institute.

Stacy Drageset is the proud mother of four beautiful children; one who happens to be a 10-year-old transgender little girl.

After spending 20+ years as a Marketing Director in the Professional Beauty industry, Stacy resigned from her position in 2016 to advocate full-time for transgender youth.

As a vetted speaker for the Human Relations, Diversity & Equity department at LAUSD, Stacy currently spends her time presenting to teachers and administrators at all grade levels, and to college and graduate level students.

With a focus on educating people on the psychological and scientific evolution of gender, Stacy carefully weaves in details of her personal story, highlighting both the challenges and rewards of raising a gender variant child.

In an effort to spread awareness and encourage acceptance, Stacy and her husband Erik published a children’s picture book in 2014 called “Pink is a Girl Color…” and other silly things people say. The book inspires young children to be their authentic selves, and reminds readers of the importance of respect and acceptance. The book is currently listed in the top 20 books for LAUSD teachers to use when teaching diversity and acceptance in the classroom.
