D'Lo
Growing up Tamil-Sri-Lankan, D’Lo has been a featured performer at various conferences, showcases, political events and poetry readings. From comedy, music, dance, theatre and poetry, her material revolves around socio-political issues (war, race, class, gender, sexuality) that affect the communities she identifies with. Most importantly, her work comes from a youth urban perspective. D’Lo’s hip-hop/b-boy flavor creates a dialogue of expression with the audience, using empowerment as a vehicle of this performative conversation. |

Cat-Eyez
22-Year-Old, multi-racial, openly gay rap artist Cat-Eyez is definitely a new breed of MC. Dubbed Hip Hop’s Ghetto Prince Charming, he encourages individuality and breathes a breath of realism into his music. His distinguishable vocals and in-your-face lyrics have turned many heads. A regular guest star with Milo Management’s Homo Revolution Tour, Cat-Eyez aims to help erase homophobia in Rap Music. His upcoming debut album “Cat-Astrophe” showcases topics ranging from teen issues, the downlow epidemic, and empowerment in self to sex and the familiar gangsta and club tracks you’re used to from other artists. An ex-gang member, He sheds light on the fact that LGBT people come from the projects too, and can do anything that their heterosexual counterparts can, and often times turn their lives around to something better.

SKIM
SKIM has performed across the nation - from Queer people of color conferences to San Quentin, from HBO’s Def Poetry Jam to mass demonstrations led by Korean farmers. Drawing from all of her experiences and environments, SKIM articulates herself through the music she creates, and captivates audiences with her honesty, humor, and talent. She offers a bridge between man and woman, native and immigrant, war and love. Mixing hip hop beats with the throb of poongmul, rhyming in English and Korean, introducing soul music to Korean folk-song, SKIM and her music escape simple categorization. In 2006, SKIM established her own company, Mago Music, which released her first album, “For Every Tear.” |
